Telefilm Canada announces update to Production Program guidelines – Changes to Performance Envelope component

18 December 2013

Montréal, December 16, 2013 – As part of its program redesign initiative and following a series of consultations with the industry, Telefilm Canada is making changes to the Performance Envelope component of its Production Program. The Performance Envelope component will be replaced with a Fast Track stream.

The main goal of this latest revision is to recognize and reward the success of production companies that have demonstrated an ability to produce feature films that have achieved a very high level of success on a regular basis by offering them access to a fast track funding process.

The first wave of changes to the program was launched in October 2012 and focused on the program’s Selective component, which now makes up the Regular Stream of the Production Program.

An overview of the changes and the list of documents pertaining to the Production Program are available on the Production Program Web page.

These new guidelines will be applicable for funding applications submitted as of December 16, 2013.

Applications may now be submitted for projects with budgets of $2.5M and greater in both language markets.

Opening dates for applications of projects with budgets less than $2.5M will be announced shortly.

Closing date for all applications: The Production Program will remain open until funds are exhausted, in both language markets.
