Telefilm Canada awarded Women in Governance Parity Certification

16 September 2022

At a ceremony in Montreal and Toronto, Telefilm Canada was proudly awarded the Women in Governance Parity Certification for the first time. This certification both evaluates parity at the decision-making level and assesses the organization’s commitment to implementing mechanisms that enable women at all levels to achieve career advancement.

Certification followed a lengthy process that examined internal measures, practices and programs that contribute towards equitable representation of women at all levels of the organization, while considering the multifaceted effects of diversity on career advancement for women.

Telefilm Canada was recognized, alongside other organizations including partner organizations CBC/Radio-Canada and the National Film Board of Canada, for our commitment to gender parity both inside Telefilm and across the screen-based industry.

“We are proud to promote an inclusive, parity-based environment and call upon ourselves to evaluate our practices and find innovative ways to cultivate a workplace that fosters belonging,” said Marie-Eve Mainville, Vice President, Talent & Culture.

Telefilm Canada continues to promote gender parity and inclusion both internally as well as across the screen-based industry.
