Telefilm Canada Congratulates the 2011 Genie Award Winners

Montréal, March 10, 2011 – Telefilm Canada warmly congratulates the winners of the 31st annual Genie Awards, which honours the outstanding achievement in Canadian film. The awards were presented in 22 categories at a ceremony this evening at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa.

“I would like to congratulate all the winners and finalists whose work was recognized this evening. Whether at Cannes, Los Angeles, Venice or Sundance, 2010 was a rich and rewarding year for our films, and we can be justly proud of them,” said Carolle Brabant, Executive Director of Telefilm Canada. “I urge all Canadians to go see our home-grown productions and discover for themselves the calibre and talent of our filmmakers,” she added.
