Telefilm Canada invites the public to discover Canadian cinema at the Atlantic Film Festival

14 September 2011

Montréal, September 14, 2011 – Telefilm Canada is proud to be associated with the 31st annual Atlantic Film Festival (September 15 -24, 2011), an excellent showcase for recent Canadian productions.

“Together with its partners, Telefilm Canada is sparing no effort to ensure that Canadian audiovisual content connects with audiences and achieves the recognition it deserves,” says Carolle Brabant, Executive Director of Telefilm Canada. “Given that 53% of films screened at the Festival are Canadian, the event is an ideal opportunity to highlight the unique nature and diversity of the Canadian experience and its stories.”

Telefilm’s participation at the AFF

Telefilm is actively participating in the following initiatives:

Among the events and initiatives organized by the Atlantic Film Festival Association is the acclaimed Strategic Partners (SP) international coproduction market for film and television, which will be held during the AFF from September 16 to 19. Transatlantic Partners

Inspired Scripts program
Telefilm is co-partner with the Harold Greenberg Fund of the Inspired Scripts program. This program provides four Canadian screenwriters from the Atlantic region with the unique opportunity to develop their feature-film script and then pitch it to a panel of industry professionals at the AFF.

Telefilm Canada’s Canadian Filmmaker Series
Telefilm Canada is a Presenter Partner of the Canadian Filmmaker Series initiative, an exploration of Canadian talent and the creative process via discussions with filmmakers.
