Telefilm Canada welcomes Catherine Émond as Director, Public and Government Affairs
November 26, 2018 – Telefilm Canada warmly welcomes Catherine Émond as Director, Public and Government Affairs. Ms. Émond replaces Jean-Claude Mahé, who is retiring from the organization on December 28, 2018.
Ms. Émond comes to Telefilm Canada from Alliance Numérique, where she served as the Executive Director for a little over three years. Prior to that, she worked for a number of years in the Quebec government including as political attaché to the Minister of Culture and Communications and the Minister of Education, Sport and Leisure.
In addition, she was a policy advisor in the Montreal Mayor’s office where she worked on several large projects including the revitalisation of the Quartier des spectacles.
According to Christa Dickenson, Executive Director: “Ms. Émond has a proven capacity for strategic communications and a unique vision. She brings with her a varied background and a breadth of experience working with different levels of government, as well as with industry and public stakeholders in the cultural milieu. She will be a true asset to both Telefilm and the Canadian audiovisual industry.”

Ms. Émond joins Telefilm’s Executive Committee effective immediately.
