Update on Telefilm Canada’s Export Assistance Program 

Telefilm Canada’s Export Assistance Program, which helps finance the international distribution of Canadian feature films, including promotional campaigns for theatrical releases, will be undergoing a strategic review as part of Telefilm’s corporate priorities to maximize its impact in the audiovisual support ecosystem. 

A review of Telefilm’s programs and initiatives will be conducted in alignment with the 2024-2027 Strategic Plan, to ensure better structure for greater equity, prosperity and vitality of the industry. The review of this program will include consultations from the industry, implementation of business intelligence and simplification of processes, to create harmonization and overall coherence with Telefilm’s programs and initiatives. 

As such, the Export Assistance Program will be put on pause for fiscal 2024-2025.
