New Audiovisual Coproduction Treaty between Canada and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg

February 1, 2021 – Telefilm Canada is pleased to announce that the new Audiovisual Coproduction Treaty between the Government of Canada and the Government of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg, signed on April 19, 2017, will be in effect as of February 1, 2021.

This new Treaty, which aims to provide a modernized framework for audiovisual coproductions between Canada and Luxembourg, replaces the Agreement between the Government of Canada and the Government of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg regarding the Audiovisual Coproduction dated March 4, 1996.

Audiovisual coproductions governed by a treaty allow Canadian producers to benefit from financial and creative participation from foreign sources as well as to promote and export Canadian talent internationally.
