Phase 2 of the Emergency Relief Fund: Details and criteria now online for training and development partners, and movie theatres

29 July 2020

The Government of Canada recently unveiled the final components of the second and final phase of the Emergency Relief Fund, which included an investment of $1,755,000 and $1,000,000 to be distributed by Telefilm respectively to movie theatres that show Canadian films,  and to audiovisual training and development partners that have not already received financial support under the Emergency Relief Fund.

Details and application process criteria are now online.
Telefilm will begin accepting applications starting on August 17, 2020.

The emergency funding announced by the federal government is part of a multifaceted funding ecosystem and will be allocated in a way which complements—not duplicates—other measures for which screen industry workers and companies are eligible. These new funds will help companies in Canada’s film and television sectors ensure continuity of operations and safeguard jobs.
