Industry Advisory: Reopening of Phase 2 – Movie Theatre Program COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund – Telefilm Allocation

October 19, 2020 – Telefilm Canada announces that the COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund – Telefilm Allocation will once again be available to all movie theatre exhibitors who have not yet received assistance under this program (Phase 1 or Phase 2), as of Tuesday, October 20, 2020.

New applications can be submitted to the Theatrical Assistance Program as of tomorrow, and until November 17, 2020, through the Dialogue platform. The eligibility criteria, essential information guide and guidelines can be found here. Please note that the amounts of financial assistance that can be granted have increased.

Movie theatre exhibitors who have already received financial assistance under Phases 1 or 2 of Telefilm’s Emergency Relief Fund may receive an additional contribution of $10,000 per applicant. For these applicants, no new application is required. Starting on October 20, 2020, Telefilm will contact the recipients directly through their Dialogue accounts, and they must agree to receive this contribution before October 27, 2020.
