Telefilm Canada announces the appointment of Lori McCurdy to the position of Regional Feature Film Executive – Atlantic Region
Telefilm Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Lori McCurdy as Regional Feature Film Executive – Atlantic Region.
Hailing from Nova Scotia, and having worked at the Telefilm’s Halifax office for 20 years, McCurdy is well-known to the Atlantic industry. In her previous roles, she worked closely with the region’s feature film, television, and new media producers and creators.
Previous roles include Investment Analyst Business Unit Director – Atlantic Operations, National Officer, English Market, Industry Development and Business Affairs Lead Analyst, Atlantic region. In 2012, she was promoted to the role of Director, Performance and Quality Management in Corporate Services.
The Regional Feature Film Executive position is a part-time position, therefore, McCurdy will continue in her role as Director, Performance and Quality Management.
“This nomination is great news for the Canadian audiovisual industry! Lori, who is already very familiar with the region’s talent and partners, will now be their voice within the organisation,” confirms Michel Pradier, Director, Project Financing. “Having someone of her experience on the ground in the region will foster a more personal touch, and will allow us to solidify our relationship with this local community of filmmakers and creators.”
“I am very excited to take on this role. To be able to return to work with my local industry here in Atlantic Canada is truly a full circle moment,” says McCurdy. “I am looking forward to rekindling old relationships and developing new ones, as well as to supporting the development of local talent, and to bringing Atlantic stories to Canadian screens.”
McCurdy has an LL.B. from Dalhousie Law School, a B.A. in English (Film and Communications) from McGill University, and a B.Sc. (Biology) from Dalhousie University. Before joining Telefilm, she worked for Charles Bishop Productions (now DHX Media).
