Trailer Park Boys production team returns with The Guys Who Move Furniture, Michael Melski helms thriller Charlie Zone

Montreal, April 7, 2011 – Telefilm Canada is pleased to announce that two Nova Scotia feature films – Mike Clattenburg’s dramedy The Guys Who Move Furniture and Michael Melski’s street thriller Charlie Zone – will be coming soon to a theatre near you thanks to the Canada Feature Film Fund (CFFF).

“Telefilm has been proud to invest in Nova Scotia’s filmmaking talent for more than 20 years,” said Gordon Whittaker, Regional Director Business Development and Feature Film Executive, Atlantic Region for Telefilm Canada. “With the recent launch of our four-year corporate plan, our main priority is to stimulate demand for Canadian productions, and with this in mind, I am certain that Mike Clattenburg’s latest, brought to you by the maverick talent behind the Trailer Park Boys, will connect with audiences.

“We also recognize the importance of encouraging emerging producers, directors, and writers to create challenging productions with new perspectives. Michael Melski’s second feature, a tough urban thriller set in Halifax, pushes boundaries and sheds a light on the city’s hidden life.”

The Guys Who Move Furniture

Directed by Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia’s Mike Clattenburg, The Guys Who Move Furniture is a character-driven comedy about a simple man’s struggle for self worth in the tough world of moving. We join well-known Vancouver-born comedic actor Will Sasso (upcoming Three Stooges release, $#*! My Dad Says, Madtv) as Clyde as he tries to get the weekend off so his kids can visit. What at first seems pretty simple – becomes the greatest challenge of Clyde’s life. If he screws this job up he could very well end up homeless. Also starring Charles Q. Murphy (Chappelle’s Show).
