Telefilm Canada launches a new Marketing Program for 2013-2014

Montréal, May 27, 2013 – Telefilm Canada is pleased to announce the opening of its new Marketing Program as of today. This program is a result of productive ongoing consultations with the industry over this last year.

As part of Telefilm’s Program Redesign initiative, the previous Marketing, Alternative Distribution, Web-Ciné 360, and Versioning Assistance Programs have been merged into one main Marketing program, for increased administrative efficiency and improved customer service.

All eligible costs and activities previously funded under the various separate programs will continue to be supported through the new Marketing Program. Keeping in step with the changing realities of the marketplace, an expanded breadth of expenses, which include support for marketing and distribution on ancillary and digital platforms, are now also eligible.

The Marketing Program is designed to fund marketing activities aimed at increasing theatrical accessibility and enhancing opportunities for audience access via digital distribution and multiple viewing platforms. This is in line with Telefilm’s goal of expanding the reach of Canadian productions and talent, both nationally and internationally. Both eligible Canadian distributors and producers can apply for financing.
