Telefilm Canada strengthens its client service for Atlantic Canada

Telefilm Canada is pleased to announce that Anne Frank has been confirmed, on a permanent basis, in her role as Regional Feature Film Executive—Atlantic Region. In addition, Halifax industry veteran Denise Jamieson has been appointed as Project Leader—National Promotion and Communications.

Over nearly two years in this position, Anne has developed strong relationships with Atlantic Canada clients and industry partners.

Anne will also continue in her role as Feature Film Content Analyst for national decisions, where she is part of the team that selects and oversees the development and production of feature films.

Anne has been working in the film and television industry for over 25 years as executive producer, independent producer, story editor and script consultant. She was previously Telefilm’s Regional Director, Industry Promotion, Ontario & Nunavut. As Production Executive for Global Television, she supervised the development and production of national priority prime time dramatic television series. She produced the Gemini and Gémeaux Award-winning documentary Claude Jutra: An Unfinished Story, worked on many award-winning films including the critically acclaimed Caméra d’Or-winning Atanarjuat: The Fast Runner, and was editor of the book Telling It: Writing for Canadian Film and Television.

Denise Jamieson
Project Leader—National Promotion and Communications

Based in the Halifax office, Denise is thrilled to join Telefilm’s National Promotion and Communications team as Project Leader. She looks forward to “helping in whatever way, small or big, to raise the Canadian public’s awareness of our homegrown talent, and to help create opportunities for Canadians to access our country’s amazing content.”

Denise has worked in various business affairs capacities for television and film for more than 20 years.

Shortly after graduating with a Bachelor of Public Relations (honours) degree from Mount Saint Vincent University in 1988, Denise decided to head west to Vancouver to specifically find work in the film industry. She gained production experience working on two seasons of the Canadian series, Max Glick before taking a position with Telefilm’s Vancouver business affairs team in the 90s.

Needing to be closer to her Maritime roots, Denise and her young family settled back in Halifax in 1997 where she worked with Salter Street Films (now DHX Media) in the business affairs department, followed by contract work with several local producers and directors. When the opportunity to return to the Telefilm fold arose seven years ago, Denise enthusiastically rejoined the organization in the Halifax office as a Canada Media Fund administrator, filling the combined roles of regional coordinator and development business analyst.
