TIFF Announces Canada’s Top Ten Films for 2010 – All 10 feature films made with Telefilm Canada support

20 December 2010

Montreal, December 20, 2010 – Telefilm Canada is proud to have participated in all of the feature films selected as “Canada’s Top Ten” for 2010. In this annual event created in 2001 by the Toronto International Film Festival as a way to honour excellence in Canadian filmmaking, Canada’s top ten feature and short films are selected by a panel composed of industry professionals and filmmakers.

“We are proud to have contributed to these winning works by filmmakers from across the country,” said Michel Pradier, Director of Project Financing, Telefilm Canada. “These films demonstrating the outstanding talent of Canadian creators come from both emerging and established filmmaking teams and are quite simply good strong films that have clearly resonated with audiences.”

A long-time supporter of TIFF and its year-round initiatives, Telefilm is delighted that the TIFF Cinematheque will be screening Canada’s Top Ten films over eight days, starting January 20 and running until February 1, 2011. A cross-Canada tour will follow, with stops in such venues as the Pacific Cinematheque in Vancouver and the Canadian Film Institute in Ottawa.
