Telefilm welcomes two new Regional Feature Film Executives

30 May 2022

Telefilm Canada is pleased to welcome two new Feature Film Executives for the Western and Quebec regions.

Kim Guise (she/her/elle) has been named Western Regional Feature Film Executive for a two-year term starting June 6, 2022. With over 20 years of experience in the film and television industry, including 10 years as an investment analyst at Telefilm in Vancouver, Guise has been involved in the audiovisual industry for most of her career.

As a lawyer, business affairs advisor and production executive, Guise is passionate about enabling people from diverse backgrounds and experiences to tell stories that are meaningful to them and their communities.

In this role, Guise will be reporting to the National Director, Feature Film English Mmarket. She will help to support emerging talent and render financing decisions for feature films that represent the Western Canadian region.

Anita Damiani (she/her/elle) has been appointed Quebec Regional Feature Film Executive for the Francophone market as of April 1, 2022, for a five-year term. A graduate of Communications Studies, Damiani has over 20 years of experience in the industry, including 16 years at Telefilm as a distribution analyst, marketing specialist and lead for the national Theatrical Exhibition Program and French-language documentaries.

Reporting to the National Director, Feature Film – French market, Damiani’s current responsibilities within the project financing – Francophone market team have been adjusted to fit this new role. This position demonstrates a harmonizing of the organizational structures of both linguistic markets as Damiani focuses on making funding decisions that show a distinct Quebecois point of view and highlight emerging talent.

Both roles reflect Telefilm’s evolution of its programs to meet the needs of the redefined landscape.

Guise will be based out of the Vancouver office while Damiani will remain in the Montreal office.
