Telefilm Canada reopens the Promotion Program’s General Admission Stream

Telefilm Canada announces the reopening dates of the Promotion Program’s General Admission Stream for festivals to be held between April 1, 2022, and June 30, 2022. 

The General Admission Stream, launched earlier this year, aims to provide streamlined funding to smaller and emerging film festivals across the country for promotional activities held in Canada that showcase Canadian content and talent. 

Festivals that have never received funding from Telefilm or that received funding of $5,000.00 or less under the Promotion Program in the past fiscal year should apply to the General Admission Stream. 

The Promotion Program 

Telefilm has reoriented the structure of the Promotion Program by type of activity (festivals, conferences, trainings, etc.) to better serve the needs of new and existing partners. The Program is now comprised of three separate streams: the General Admission Stream, the Limited Edition Stream, and Industry Initiatives Stream. 

The review of the Promotion Program will continue as part of Telefilm’s modernization initiatives. 

Key dates:  

• The General Admission Stream will reopen from January 17 to 21, 2022, for festivals and film markets to be held between April 1, 2022, and June 30, 2022
